A chic but casual outfit?

Ya dont wanna lookn sloopy, but not too over done and out of place shopping or with friends.

How is it done?!

I really don’t think there is the correct answer to that.
That’s why we are on Chictopia and to learn to dress better :)

I know it’s a little cliche but I feel like a black item is a must in a chic but casual outfit.

I wanted to know what kind of personal rules people have when they get dressed.
That sorta thing…..

I usually just throw on a dress and tights or dark denim jeans, a simple shirt, and oversized cardigan for days when I want to go shopping or have class the whole day.

No more than three bright colours per outfit.
No more than 3 different patterns.
Two baggy items= NO

i usually wear vests, cardigans and tight jeans with DM boots or converse.

For me it’s always a white tee, dark denim jeans, and a tailored jacket/blazer.

Tight things that are comfortable. With something that isn’t tight to drape over it.

I don’t have a secret. I do have a fall back look though: long loose tee/tank with jeans and boots. Always have a sweater that can be folded and put in my bag if necesarry. Maybe a scarf around my neck or in my hair. If I feel especially cute I might wear a skirt with pattered black tights.

I step back from the mirror and see if everything “fits” together visually.

I also have finely detailed pieces that are more interesting if you notice the small details.

A great pair of flats or boots is 100% necessary.

There’s no one right answer, as everyone has their own style, but a good idea is to stick with what you feel comfy in and add jewelry or other accessories…something to make it more interesting :)

confidence. Because no matter how shitty you look, if you believe the “sunshine is coming out your ass” you’re still gonna look better than someone who obviously tried super hard and feels uncomfortable.
